Solar Panels

October 18, 2012-11:45am

The solar panels provide a one megawatt photovoltaic system springing up on a hillside to the northeast of the detention facility — will help power the county’s Calle Real campus, which contains the Sheriff’s Department and jail, as well as several other departments, like Public Health, Mental Health, Agricultural Commissioner, and County Elections. The panels will provide about one-third of the power the campus needs, according to energy manager Roy Hapeman, and the complex uses roughly 20 percent of all the electricity consumed by county operations.

The tour will be followed by a lunch at:  General Services Facilities Shop Building “B” at 4568 Calle Real, SB, CA

Meet at 4568 Calle Real (County Fuel Station) top of Dump Road @ 11:45am and Carpool will be provided up to the solar site-Costs-$10.00
